Five Easy Pieces...
Recently I took a trip to the Birth Place of my Ancestry to discover my roots and fill in some holes in my Family Tree. While on the trip the lessons of Customer Service starting popping up all around me. For example...
Ordering a Beefeater Gin Martini at an Irish Pub brought a Bombay Sapphire Gin Martini and Bouillabaisse over Pasta came minus Oysters because they were all out.
Now at first glance you might think this presented a problem since we were specific about the brand of gin to be used in the Martini and the Bouillabaisse was ordered partly due to the presence of Oysters.
Instead, we were presented with Value Added substitutions without so much as a cross word being uttered by anyone. In fact, the staff asked if the Value Added substitutions would be acceptable. The Martini was made a little larger ( and maybe even more potent ) and in place of the Oysters was some extra Shrimp, Mussels and Scallops.
The lesson I learned was that sometimes all it takes is a little flexibility on BOTH SIDES to make the evening just as enjoyable and maybe even a little more so.
